SISTERS, Ore. (KTVZ) -- The Children’s Museum of Central Oregon popped up at the new Sisters Elementary School on Saturday.

The mobile museum brings interactive learning experiences directly to young minds.

Exhibits have been carefully selected, aiming to inspire, engage, and empower children, through hands-on exploration and discovery.

Third-rader Gwen says she loves the science-inspired activities.

“When you do a visible vibration, it does different noises,” said Gwen.

Kenady Wilson, a Board Member for the Children’s Museum of Central Oregon, says the activities help broaden a child’s mind.

“Our focus is bringing what the community needs to make sure it's engaging and it's something the community wants and needs. The mobile museum is a core part of our organization, and we're serving this resource," said Wilson. "There's so much development that occurs in young children when they have that informal education in that play-based learning."

The Children’s Museum of Central Oregon’s board consists of local residents passionate about expanding STEAM-based learning opportunities in the community.

You can check out the pop-up museum with your kids on Sunday, February 23rd. It will be at the same location from 10 am to 2 pm.
