Sisters Community Clean Up Event

SISTERS, Ore. (KTVZ) - Do you want to get involved and make a difference within your community? Here's your chance! Happening Next, you can join Citizens4Community, the City of Sisters, SOLVE, and Sisters Park & Recreation District (SPRD) for a community-wide cleanup on Saturday, April 18th from 9 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.

The community clean up event, happening just four days before Earth Day, will be put on with support from Hayden Homes.

Interested in helping spruce up the City of Sisters? Here are more details from the city:

  • We’ll begin at 9 AM with free donuts and coffee in Fir Street Park (bring a mug if you can) from Sisters Bakery and Sisters Coffee Company.
  • After a safety briefing and location assignments, we’ll split into groups and fan out across our town and neighborhoods to pick up litter and help keep Sisters looking its best.
  • Got your own “hot spot” you want to tackle? That’s fine too! Safety vests, trash bags, and gloves are provided – just show up with sturdy shoes, long pants, a water bottle, and a can-do attitude. Trash bags can be returned to our dumpster next to Fir Street Park by noon.
  • Volunteers of all ages are welcome; those under 18 must sign a waiver online in advanceor bring a parent/guardian to the event to sign. Groups are strongly encouraged; consider inviting your friends, family, or whole neighborhood to tag along. We’ll have prizes for the group that collects the most trash!

The city says, "Let’s see if we can collect enough trash to fill a 20-yard dumpster!"

NOTE: All participants will need to sign a waiver – either on-site, or online through SOLVE.
