Beth Martin chosen as new principal for North Star Elementary School
BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- North Star Elementary School in Bend will have a new principal next school year. Bend-La Pine Schools Superintendent Steven Cook announced Thursday that Beth Martin has been selected for the position and will begin July 1.
“Beth is a talented leader and veteran educator who is driven to ensure that all kids succeed,” Dr. Cook said. “We are excited for her to join Bend-La Pine Schools and North Star community.”
Martin is in her first year as the Head of School at the Berkeley Academy for Multicultural Studies in Santa Ana, Costa Rica. Prior to her current role, she was the Principal at Kathryn Jones Harrison Elementary in Corvallis, from 2020-23. Before that, Martin was the Principal at Adams Elementary in Corvallis for two years. She also served as a Multi-Tiered System of Supports and Instructional Coach for the Corvallis School District and has four years of classroom teaching experience in Oregon and Texas.

I deeply believe in the importance of public education and the role it plays in supporting all students to learn, grow, and become inspired. North Star is a truly remarkable school, and I am excited for all that we will accomplish together.”
In other hiring news, Jessica Houser has joined Bend-La Pine Schools as the Business Office Operations Manager, overseeing payroll and accounts payable.
