FATAL CRASH: 15-year-old killed in Prineville head-on collision, another juvenile remains in serious condition

PRINEVILLE, Ore. (KTVZ) -- On Saturday, December 6th at 9:23 p.m., deputies from the Crook County Sheriff's Office responded to a motorcycle crash involving two motorcycles and two 15-year-olds on SE Indian Lane in Prineville.

One of the juveniles was pronounced deceased at the scene while the other was life-flighted to St. Charles Bend with serious injuries, according to the sheriff's office.

The Crook County Sheriff's Office said the two motorcycles collided head-on.

"On Saturday, December 6, 2025, at approximately 9:23 p.m., Deputies from the Crook County Sheriff’s Office responded to a motorcycle crash involving two motorcycles on SE Indian Lane.

During the course of the investigation, it was determined that two 15-year-old juveniles were operating the motorcycles. The motorcycles collided in a head-on manner on SE Indian Lane and then came to rest in the middle of the roadway.

One of the juveniles was flown to St. Charles Bend by Airlink with serious injuries. The other juvenile sustained life-threatening injuries and succumbed to the injuries on scene after life-saving measures were performed.

The Crook County Sheriff’s Office offers its deepest condolences to both families and friends involved in this tragic incident.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash. The investigation is ongoing at this time.

The Sheriff’s Office would like to thank Crook County Fire & Rescue, Airlink, the Prineville Police Department, Crook County 9-1-1, and Star Towing for their assistance.
