Bend’s Street Dog Hero welcomes 30+ Chihuahua mixes rescued from Central California
BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- Street Dog Hero has welcomed 31 Chihuahua mixes rescued from a cramped hoarding home in Central California.
"The dogs were found after their owner passed away, and with California shelters overflowing - they needed a safe place to go," Street Dog Hero says.
"Thanks to Oregon’s high adoption rates, these pups will have a real chance at finding loving homes here, where they might not have been so lucky in California," added Kelli Delperdang, Marketing & Communications Manager for Street Dog Hero.
The dogs are arrived via rescue van Wednesday, February 11th, at Street Dog Hero's Bend location: 910 SE Wilson Ave, STE A-1, Bend, OR 97702.
Street Dog Hero is "not a shelter, [but] a foster home-based rescue organization, and do not have pets available to meet onsite. To meet specific animals, please fill out an adoption application to start the process and arrange a meet and greet," per their website.
Street Dog Hero is also seeking volunteers to bathe, walk, and help take care of the pups in other ways. You can sign up on their website.
