Happening Tomorrow: Bend Park and Rec District opens summer recreation program registration

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) — The Bend Peninsula Park and Recreation District will open registration for summer youth camps on Tuesday, March 17, at 6:00 a.m. Registration for general recreation programs, sports leagues, and swim lessons will follow on Wednesday, March 18, at 6:00 a.m.

Thousands of Summer Options
The upcoming registration period covers more than 1,200 program sessions scheduled from mid-June through August. District officials recommend residents update their online household accounts and clear any outstanding balances before registration to ensure a faster checkout process.

Youth Camps Open First
Registration on March 17 focuses on youth summer camps, including full-day and half-day options that last at least four consecutive days. Staff warned that wait times on the first day typically range from 45 to 60 minutes. Patrons are encouraged to add programs to their online wish lists to speed up registration.

Recreation, Sports and Swim Lessons Follow
On March 18, the district opens registration for enrichment programs, swim lessons and various sports leagues. Activities include arts, crafts, roller skating, and cooking. Fall sports signups include adult cornhole, softball, kickball, and roller hockey, as well as youth flag football and soccer leagues.

Payment Plans and Scholarships Available
Certain full-day camps: Operation Recreation, The PAC, Cougar Camp, Riley Ranch Nature Camp, and Adventure Camp qualify for a four-installment payment plan if registration occurs by March 31. The district also offers scholarships; about 3,300 residents received financial support last year.

Helpful Resources Before You Register
Residents who haven’t logged into their accounts recently should do so before March 17 to verify credentials and resolve any outstanding balances. Registration opens at 6:00 a.m. each morning, available online or in person at the District Office, Larkspur Community Center, or Juniper Swim and Fitness Center. For assistance, patrons may call 541-389-7275.
