Why did the Bend geese and row of goslings cross the road and float the river? (Well, why not?)

They may or may not be the same family, but Larissa Metzger shared her photo Tuesday of two Canada geese and their four little ones, while Cary Boyce snapped a parental pair on the Deschutes River on Sunday with a total of eight goslings all in a row.
