Sports Report: Ducks suffer bad loss & Blazers are on the wrong side of history

BEND, Ore. -- (KTVZ) -- The rough week for Duck fans just keeps going. The Oregon Ducks mens basketball team, ranked 9th in the country, hosted the 22nd ranked Illinois Fighting Illini at Matthew Knight Arena. The game was competitive for one half until Illinois went on a 22 to 6 run to pull away from the Ducks. The tough loss comes on the heels of the Rose Bowl loss the Ducks football team suffered earlier this week. The defeat will surely cause the Ducks to fall in the rankings, however, they should remain in the top 25. Future matchups don't get any easier for the Ducks, with multiple ranked opponents still left on the schedule.

Meanwhile, history was made out in Los Angeles where the Portland Trailblazers matched up against the LA Lakers. Unfortunately, the trailblazers were on the receiving end of the historical moment. Lebron James tied Michael Jordan's record for most 30-point games ever. Both amassing 562 games of scoring 30 or more points. The Blazers would not go down without a fight, rallying late in the fourth quarter to bring the game closer. Despite their efforts, the Blazers lost to the Lakers 114 to 106. The Blazers will head to Milwaukee this Saturday for a matchup with Damian Lillard.
