High Desert Stampede barrel racer Laura Mote speaks with Lynsey Harris about her ‘full-circle moment’
REDMOND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- We're back live Tuesday evening of the 2025 High Desert Stampede, and Lynsey Harris talked with barrel racer Laura Mote about her event, her preparation and how it's a family affair she's excited to be competing in.
"It's a really cool full-circle moment, you know," she said. :I grew up coming here for the Redmond rodeo and circuit finals, and I grew up in this arena. And so I've always dreamed of competing here myself, and so it's really cool to come back and get my chance."
And how does Mote prepare for the competition? "I try and stay calm and confident in my horse, and the more confident and calm I am, the better my horse is," she said.
