Central Oregon Football Officials Association are in need of more referees

BEND, Ore. – Calling all football fanatics!! The Central Oregon Football Officials Association needs your help.

Friday night lights are almost here, but the games can’t happen without officials. The association is dedicated to providing quality referees for high school football, but they can only do that if enough people step up to the job.

Each varsity game requires five certified officials, and on a busy Friday night, as many as 35 are needed. Right now, the association has just 30 registered officials.

The requirements are simple:

  • Pass a criminal background check
  • Complete three short online training courses
  • Pass an assisted 50-question test

For those willing to give it a try, it’s a front-row seat to all the action and a chance to help keep Friday night football alive in Central Oregon.

Anyone 18 years old and above can become an official. You can sign up at https://www.osaa.org/new-officials/index.html
