No. 6 Oregon holds on in Double OT thriller vs No. 3 Penn State
BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- All week, no, all year since the schedules came out for the 2025 college football season, every Duck player, coach, and fan knew that week 5 could be the biggest game of the entire season, and could determine playing for a Big Ten title and seeding for the college football playoffs. Head coach Dan Lanning knew playing at Penn State would show him what his team is really capable of, considering it is a brand new squad from a season ago. He told his team headed into the game that Penn State is having a white out because we are Oregon. The Oregon defense took that to heart, shutting down the Penn State offense for three quarters. The Duck offense struggled to put points on the board until the third quarter. Oregon went up 17-3, but Penn State came right back tying the game and sending it to overtime. The Ducks ended up pulling it out in Overtime after Dante Moore connected with Gary Bryant Jr. to take the lead in double OT, and when Penn State got their possession QB Drew Allar threw an interception to Dillon Thieneman to secure the 30-24 win for Oregon.
