Portland Pilots Stun No. 6 Gonzaga in Historic Upset

PORTLAND, Ore. (KTVZ)-- The Portland Pilots made history with a stunning upset over one of college basketball’s biggest powerhouses.

On Wednesday, the Pilots defeated the sixth-ranked Gonzaga Bulldogs, marking the program’s first-ever win against a top‑10 opponent. It was also their first victory over any ranked team in 12 years.

The Chiles Center erupted as students rushed the court after the final buzzer, celebrating Portland’s 87–80 win. The result is being called the largest upset in the West Coast Conference in 30 years.

Despite the milestone victory and national attention, the Pilots are still not ranked in the Top 25.
