Crook County Boys Wrestling wins IMC championship

Prineville, Ore. (KTVZ)-- Crook County High School Wrestling won the IMC District Championship on Feb. 26, 2026, narrowly defeating Redmond in the team standings.

The championship performance included 19 total placers and six individual champions. The victory comes as the team prepares to send 11 wrestlers to the state competition.

The six individual champions for Crook County included Casen Villastrigo at 113 pounds, Alejandro Vargas at 120 pounds and Evan Provost at 126 pounds. Other first-place finishers were Madden Sandoval in the 144-pound class, Daxon Pennington at 157 pounds and Jayden Lopez at 215 pounds.

Three Cowboys finished as runner-ups in their respective divisions. Justin Tucker took second place at 106 pounds, while Chase Hemphill finished second at 132 pounds and Shane Anderson earned second at 138 pounds.

Kaiden Reynolds placed third in the 106-pound division. William Coshow finished in fourth place at 150 pounds.

Several other team members placed in the top six of their weight classes. Rowdy Ware, Parker Lamphere, Noah Bidwell and Taven Deck all secured fifth-place finishes. Kayden Parsons, Jamison Allen, Garrett Nash and Marco Vargus finished the tournament in sixth place.
