RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — The Carolina Hurricanes are evaluating their next steps after falling in the Eastern Conference Final in their fifth straight playoff appearance. Florida swept Carolina in the NHL semifinals. That marked the Hurricanes’ first trip there since 2019. Carolina lost all four games by one goal. That leads to questions about what changes must come next. They must also determine the impact of injuries on their roster after not having forwards Andrei Svechnikov and Max Pacioretty for the playoffs. Carolina’s unrestricted free agents include captain Jordan Staal. Goaltenders Frederik Andersen and Antti Raanta are also unrestricted free agents.
