Dylan on The Ducks: Dan Lanning excited about the CFP & how the ducks are performing in all 3 phases
The Oregon Ducks are headed to the College Football Playoff, and for the first time, they’ll get to do it at home. Oregon is 11–1 this season, with their only loss coming to top-ranked Indiana. Despite battling injuries at wide receiver all year, the Ducks’ offense has continued to roll.
Head coach Dan Lanning says the home-field advantage couldn’t come at a better time.
“Our team’s banged up — it’ll be great for us to get healthy,” Lanning said. “At this point in the season, everybody’s dealing with that. But there are only 12 teams in the nation that get to keep playing, and we get the opportunity to do that. I’m excited about it.”
Lanning added that this year’s team has shown balance across the board.
“In a lot of ways, this is our most complete team in all three phases,” he said. “We’ve had great offense, great defense, and good special teams — and this season, we’ve seen all of that come together.”
The Ducks will host James Madison University on December 20 at Autzen Stadium in Eugene. KTVZ’s sports team will have full coverage before and after the game, including fan reactions from tailgates and postgame press conferences.
