Dylan on The Ducks: ‘Next man up’ as the Ducks roster undergoes changes due to injuries and transfer portal

EUGENE, Ore. (KTVZ)-- The Oregon Ducks are heading into Friday’s College Football Playoff semifinal against Indiana facing some serious challenges in the backfield.

Earlier this week, standout running back Jordan Davison suffered an injury, leaving the Ducks without one of their most important offensive players. His absence comes as the team continues to navigate transfer portal movement within the position group.

Running back Jay Harris is among those who entered the transfer portal, but reports suggest he could still see playing time in Friday’s game.

The Ducks offense is eager to bounce back after struggling in their first matchup against the Hoosiers, whose defense kept Oregon largely in check. Tight end Kenyon Sadiq said the team’s depth and preparation give them confidence heading into the semifinal.

“All those things, play a role whether you like it or not.  It's just really about focus on what we have here. Coach Lanning says everyday in practice, there's going to be someone that shows up that hasn't all season. That's so true. So, you know, there'll be someone this game that has a great game, but that just shows, once again, the depth of our roster.”

Miami beat Ole Miss today in the fiesta bowl to earn a trip to the national championship game.

Kickoff for the Ducks and Hoosiers is set for Friday at 4:30 p.m. on ESPN, to see who will take on the Hurricanes for the College Football Playoffs Championship game.
