BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- I am not sure why I ever counted out the Summit Storm.

In the beginning of the year, I predicted the Storm would go 5-5 and finish fourth in the IMC. Coming off a state title, the Storm lost basically their entire roster and had to start from scratch. While the league title streak, and their postseason success looked to be done, it never was.

Ten upperclassmen hid in the shadows of the great teams Summit has fielded for the past five years. Those upperclassmen finally got their shot on the court, under a spotlight, and never gave up. They went 8-2 in league play, finishing seventh in the state, and are now the IMC champs for yet another year in a row.

Meanwhile, the Caldera girls lost the last two games against a very good Redmond team, and a hungry Summit team. The Wolfpack played Bend High on Friday and found the momentum they need headed into the postseason, where they will play their first game on the road.
