Think Wild rescues, cares for injured great horned owl caught in barbed wire fencing

Think Wild, a wildlife hospital in Bend, recently rescued a young great horned owl that was found injured after being entangled in barbed wire fencing. The owl had traumatic injuries to the leg, but has received two successful skin graft surgeries. The hope is to release him back into nature as soon as possible. Since Think Wild opened back in 2021, it has seen more than 130 injured great horned owls. Twelve of those owls had sustained trauma due to being entangled in barbed wire fencing, and only three of them were able to be released.  Think Wild can help remove barbed wire.
