WATCH: River otter pays surprise visit to Central Oregon middle school

PRINEVILLE, Ore. (KTVZ) -- A river otter made an unexpected visit to Crooked River Middle School in Central Oregon, wandering from a nearby river to the school grounds.

The curious otter was seen exploring the school's outside hallways, prompting staff to quickly secure the area to ensure safety for both the animal and the students.

No interaction occurred between the school staff and the otter during its brief visit. Oregon Fish and Wildlife, located just minutes away from the school, was called in to resolve the situation safely.

The incident ended without any harm, thanks to the prompt actions of the school staff and Oregon Fish and Wildlife.
