Bend’s Drake Park filled with Jubilee for the fourth annual Juneteenth Central Oregon celebration

  Saturday marked the start of a two-day festival at Bend's Drake Park for the fourth annual Juneteenth Central Oregon celebration. It's hosted by The Fathers Group and the planning community. This year's theme is Jubilee, marking a joyous celebration of the emancipation for those that were enslaved. Slaves in Texas learned they had been declared free on this date in 1865. The federal holiday is a way to remember and gather, centering on history and education.
