Local Alert Weather Day: High winds overnight, rain, and snow at times

BEND, Ore (KTVZ) -

We’ve issued a Local Alert Weather Day today due to strong winds overnight.
A High Wind Warning has been released for Bend and areas north beginning tonight and ending tomorrow afternoon.

The strongest winds will occur in the middle of the night, so today will be when you want to prep your yard. Tie down to bring in any loose objects, such as holiday decor. Downed tree branches and power outages are possible. You might have to adjust your clocks back to normal tomorrow.

This is occurring as a cold front passes through the region. This front will bring in overnight rain and drop temperatures tomorrow about 10 degrees or so. Highs will be in the 50s today and the 40s on Wednesday.

Overnight rain will turn to early snow and mix for some areas Wednesday morning. A stray shower is possible Wednesday but should stick mostly to the mountains.

In the overnight or very early morning hours of Thursday, snow and a mix will fall across the high desert. This will shift to rain during the day, which will be moderate at times. Plan for this to continue through Friday. We’ve issued a Local Alert Weather day Thursday for the impactful weather.

Saturday is a briefly dry day before rain and snow continue again.

Have a safe and happy Tuesday!
