Chilly Sunday, more snow expected this week

Happy Saturday everyone!

After a very warm December and start to January, we are starting to see a significant change in the weather pattern.

Tonight is going to be mostly cloudy with light winds.

There is a Winter Weather Advisory in place until 4am for the East Slopes of the Oregon Cascades, including La Pine and Sunriver. Patchy, blowing snow could create some visibility issues on the roads. Slow down and use caution.

Sunday will be a chilly day. The upper trough is moving to the east leading to a brief dry period. We can expect mostly sunny skies in the afternoon with temperatures in the 30s.

A cold front is crossing the region bringing heavy mountain snow to the Cascades starting on Tuesday.

We could be seeing more snow on Monday and is forecast to linger off and on throughout the week. Significant snow accumulations are expected in the Cascades.
