Some freezing conditions early with mild day ahead

A fine Thursday to you, Central Oregon.  This morning may bring some pockets of fog and black ice is possible in areas at or below freezing but concern for these items is generally low.  Today brings mostly sunny conditions with mild and close-to-average temperatures.

A ridge of high pressure is beginning to build over California and the western Great Basin providing dry conditions and near seasonal temperatures across the forecast area today. The ridge will persist Friday into Saturday with high  temperatures running around 5-10 degrees above normal.

The next chance for some snow comes as early as late Sunday, but more likely on Monday, when temperatures drop.

Winds will be a bit milder than yesterday and out of the south in the 5-10 mph range, becoming light and calm around midnight.

Highs will be in the 40s and 50s and overnight lows will be in the 20s and 30s.
