Mountain snow continues, widespread rain Wednesday

The region is still dealing with a moist flow of air off the Pacific that is providing the mountains with persistent light snow.  The lower elevations east of the Cascades continue to see clouds, but little in the way of any significant rain. The temperatures are cooler than normal, as high try to get to the low 50s and the clouds continue to hamper the chance for a warm up.

As we move forward through the week the forecast is calling for a dry day on Tuesday followed by some rainy weather Wednesday. The area will see a bit of a wintry mix early in the day as temps will be in the low 30s then mostly a cold rain is likely in the afternoon.  Winds are likely to gust near 30 mph at times Wednesday afternoon as well.

Wednesday will be the rainy day of the week, but there will not be much sunshine the rest of the way.  A stray shower is possible on Friday but, once again, not much in the way of measurable rain, and early morning mix if it times out that way.

Variably cloudy skies over the weekend will best define the period. Look for little in the way of rain as the mix of clouds and sunshine allow a slight warm up to the middle and upper 50s.
