Showers begin today

KTVZ

Good morning!

A low pressure system is bringing us cooler temperatures and wet weather across the region today. Highs will only climb up to the low 70s in most parts of Central Oregon.

Expect showers and a chance of isolated thunderstorms tonight through Friday. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch. It should also feel breezy for the next couple days due to that low pressure.

Overnight lows will be in the 30s to 40s.

Tomorrow will be even cooler, with high temperatures only reaching the 60s. We're typically in the low 80s during this time of year, so that's quite a change! Although summer is not quite over yet, it’s starting to feel more like fall.

Thankfully, we can expect air quality to improve in the coming days. The colder, wetter weather is exactly what we needed after a hot, dry summer. However, we should stay alert as Lake County to the south is under a Fire Weather Warning.

Enjoy the rest of your Thursday.
