Showers expected for a couple days

KTVZ

Let it rain! The showers will begin this afternoon, around 2-3pm and will continue through the night into Friday. Chances of seeing about a tenth to a quarter of an inch of rain on each day are pretty good. Expect heavier amounts along the crests of the Cascades and locally in areas where an isolated storm might pop up.

Showers and these fall-like temperatures are due to the low pressure that has deepened just off the coast. The low will move inland over the next day, which will bring more showers on Friday. Tomorrow, rain looks more widespread and the chance for isolated thunderstorms will be higher than today.

There is a small chance of showers continuing into Saturday, about 20-30%.

As this low approaches, there will be gusty conditions for the next couple days. The rain will cool the air as it falls and create “outflow winds,” which could reach 45-60mph. There is a Fire Weather Warning in Lake County today due to strong winds and it being a bit drier in that area. This is not us, but a reminder that even with these cooler and wetter conditions, we’re still in the heat of fire season and should remain weather aware.

Happy Thursday, have a great rest of your day! If thunder roars, go indoors.
