Clearing through the afternoon with a drier pattern taking over
Yesterday, we saw rain which shifted to snow in the evening for southern portions of our region. Snow and ice early in the day will make for slick driving conditions. There will be patchy fog for a number of areas as well. Give yourself extra time this morning to take it slowly.
A stray, early morning snow shower could drop a few flakes this morning before we start to clear out through the afternoon. Clouds will linger but break up progressively. Bluer skies return tomorrow and will continue for the week.
The low pressure system that was bringing in moisture the last couple days is exiting the region today. A high pressure ridge will approach, but remain off the coast. However, it is close enough to help keep us drier and clearer. It also means our overnight lows are going to get a bit chilly. Lows tonight will be in the teens and low 20s. Highs today will be in the low 40s and upper 30s.
The rest of the week will be calm and cool, with highs in the upper 30s and low 40s. A dry pattern takes over, so we should have mostly clear skies for the remainder of the work week.
Happy Tuesday, have a great day today!
