Dry and cool today but a wet pattern is approaching
Temperatures today will range from the low to mid 40s after a bit of a chilly start. Skies will be partly cloudy and increase overnight but we will remain dry. Lows tonight will be in the teens and 20s. Temperatures this week remain pretty consistent.
The ridge of high pressure overhead has kept us dry and sunny. However, it will break down over the course of the day with an approaching low pressure system. We will see a series of upper level lows swing through the region this week, bringing waves of precipitation with it.
The first noticeable wave will be during the late Wednesday night into Thursday morning time frame. The second half of the day Thursday remains mostly dry, but 4-6” of snow could accumulate along the mountains during this time.
The second big wave of precipitation will be on Saturday. Snow and a wintry mix is expected to start overnight, heading into Saturday morning. Snow looks to be heaviest that morning and then become spotty into the afternoon. It is still a little ways out to determine just how much Central Oregon will see.
Snow will continue along the mountains through the weekend before we see a clearing.
Happy Tuesday! Have a great day.
