Cloudy today but a long wet pattern begins Saturday

Highs today, similarly to yesterday, will be in the 40s and 50s. Lows tonight will be in the 20s and 30s. Expect cloudy skies today ahead of a rainy pattern that begins on Saturday. The wet pattern that we are entering will be a pretty long one, with periods of on and off rain for the next week, at least.

A quick afternoon shower will fall on Saturday, with drier conditions that evening. Sunday, there will be breaks between light rain during the second half of the day. We could see a little snow mingled in on both of these days in the higher elevations, but overall, just wet.

Monday starts off dry but that evening, rain will pick back up and remain consistent through the night and through the day on Tuesday.

Christmas is starting to shape up to have some rain and snow, but it will fall after sunset. We could see a little accumulation by the following morning in southern Deschutes, but it won’t be a lot. Depending on timing, there might be a couple hours of Christmas that you can enjoy with fresh snow.

The official start to the winter season is tomorrow, on the winter solstice. This is our longest night and shortest day. It's only up from here!

Have a safe and happy weekend as you finish up your holiday shopping and wrapping.
