Wet pattern continues through the week

KTVZ

It was a gloomy and rainy weekend and this week will be no different. Rain continues today after a brief pause this morning. We will see cloudy, but dry, conditions to start the day but a warm front will swing through this evening and rain will return with it, right around dinner time. A cold front will follow overnight, which will keep the rain falling through the night.

Tuesday, we’ll see early showers. It will be rain for most of us, but some of the higher elevation have a chance of seeing a few flakes within that. On the night before Christmas there will be another pause in precipitation, making the trip a bit easier for Santa.

As you and your family drink your coffee and open gifts Christmas morning, conditions will be dry and cloudy. Rain and snow will start again that evening. Snow will fall in the mountains and in areas south of Bend. Although snow will start late in the day, there is a chance for a couple of us to see a white Christmas before going to bed that night. There won’t be a ton of accumulation, but maybe just enough to coat your lawn and give you the feeling of a white Christmas.

Rain and a wintry mix will continue through the week, with little let-up in sight. It will be on and off into the weekend.

Temperatures this week will be above normal during the day and overnight. Highs are mostly in the 40s, but will tip into the 50s for some areas every once in a while, while other areas dip down into the 30s. Lows will be in the 20s and 30s.

Happy holidays! Safe travels and have a happy Monday.
