Slick, icy roads this morning from wintry mix and freezing rain
There could be some icy spots on your morning commute due to wintry mix and freezing rain overnight and early this morning. Freezing rain will have the best chance of developing in Madras, Warm Springs, and Sisters. This will generate an icy glaze on surfaces so be careful on the roads today. There is a Winter Weather Advisory in place for the eastern slopes and areas along 97 south of Bend. This also extends into Wasco County. The advisory expires this evening but will remain active through the day due to the slick road conditions.
We'll some rain and mix this morning, but it will become spotty into the afternoon and there will be some clearing this evening. The clearing wont last long, however, because there is a chance for some flakes to fall in southern Deschutes and along the eastern slopes overnight into tomorrow morning. It will be very minimal in the high desert. Snow and rain chances increase Saturday evening, but accumulation will only be around an inch or so, if that, in the higher elevations.
The rest of the weekend will be cloudy and cool, with precipitation clearing out. Next week look mostly dry.
Highs today are in the low to mid 40s and lows tonight are in the 20s and 30s.
Happy Friday and have a great weekend.
