Freezing fog this morning, clear skies this afternoon
A Freezing Fog Advisory has been released for areas along 97. A Special Weather Statement was also released this morning for the eastern slopes and southern Deschutes for the patchy dense freezing fog. They both will expire at 11am today. Freezing fog generates an icy glaze on surfaces so prepare to scrape your car and drive safely. Roads could be slick and visibility will be limited at times.
Highs will mostly be in the 40s today. If the fog remains dense and stubborn, we’ll see a few areas struggle to hit the 40s this afternoon. Lows tonight will drop into the 20s and 30s.
After the fog lifts, you can expect blue skies. It will be a great afternoon to take a walk or ride your bike. Clouds will increase overnight ahead of rain and snow expected on Friday.
A cold front will pass Friday afternoon and with it, a wintry mix. The system triggering precipitation for us on Friday isn’t very strong, so chances for a wash out are low, but you can expect a little rain and snow to fall nonetheless. The timing looks like it’ll begin in the mid morning the taper off into the afternoon and evening.
We have dry and cool air following this system. Temperatures will drop into the low 40s and the 30s for the following days.
Happy Thursday, have a great day!
