Another sunny and mild day before rain and snow begins overnight Thursday
It will be another perfect day to get outside and enjoy the sunshine. We’ll see highs in the upper 40s and low 50s under clear skies. Winds will gust around 10-15mph, making for a light breeze at times. Clear skies continue into the night with lows dropping into the teens and 20s, with a few singles in the higher elevations.
We remain under a ridge of high pressure tomorrow, which will keep our temperatures in the upper 40s and low 50s. Clouds will increase through the second half of the day ahead of rain and snow that is expected to begin in the overnight hours of Thursday to Friday. A low pressure and warm front will move in early Friday, triggering the start of a long wet pattern.
Right now, the wet pattern could last a whole week, following Friday. It will be a mix of rain and snow, off and on.
With the recent mild conditions, snow won’t accumulate as much as some of us might hope. However, the higher elevations should be able to accumulate a decent amount over the period, while areas under 4000ft will see more of mix of snow and rain. It will be a wet, icy, and sometimes messy situation.
Happy Wednesday, have a great day today. It’s going to be a beautiful January day!
