Rain, snow and freezing rain possible this weekend
A Winter Storm Warning takes effect at 10pm tonight for the East Slopes of the Cascades (includes La Pine, Sunriver, Sisters and Camp Sherman).
Heavy mixed precipitation is expected above 4000 feet. Low visibility will be a concern for drivers due to periods of heavy snowfall. Consider delaying travel, but if you must head out, be prepared with a winter storm kit. Pack essentials like tire chains, booster cables, a flashlight, a shovel, and blankets. Don’t forget food, water, and extra clothing.
We’re expecting mostly cloudy conditions on the High Desert. There’s a slight chance for a wintry mix during the afternoon.
High temperatures will be in the upper 30s to low 40s today.
Tonight into Sunday, expect chances of rain, snow, and freezing rain. Ice can create slick spots on the roads, so drive slowly and leave extra space between vehicles. Spotty rain and snow showers will be on and off through the day.
Monday through Friday, the Pacific Northwest will stay in an active weather pattern, but it’ll be a bit warmer than last week.
Be safe this President's Day weekend.
