Plan for winter weather: rain and snow return this afternoon

We are off to a cloudy start this morning but rain and snow will return around lunch time today. Look for spotty mixed showers to continue into the late night hours. Rain and snow will clear overnight and we’ll have drier weather the rest of the work week.

Our recent mild trend will inhibit snow accumulation today. The Cascades will pick up a few inches by tomorrow morning, but areas in the high desert will see little. I’m tracking the chance for around an inch or so in Sunriver and La Pine, and less than that elsewhere.

Skies will be partly cloudy the rest of the week and highs will warm up into the weekend. We are on the cool side today, with highs in the low to mid 40s. Temperatures will increase a few degrees each day as an upper level low exits and a ridge of high pressure begins to take its place for the weekend. High will be back in the 50s and 60s on Saturday and Sunday.

Happy Wednesday. Stay warm and dry!
