We’ll see light, scattered rain or mixed showers early this morning but won’t start seeing widespread rain until this afternoon. Showers should begin around lunchtime today as a surface low pressure passes and will continue into the evening. After the sun sets tonight, and a cold front moves through, we’ll see more of a wintry mix and then snow overnight in our higher elevations. Spotty snow will linger into Thursday morning before becoming a spotty mix the rest of the day.

A Winter Weather Advisory is active from this evening until tomorrow night for the Cascades, eastern slopes, and areas south of Bend. I’m tracking between 1-3” of snow for Sunriver and La Pine by end of day Thursday and heavy snow across the Cascades. Slicks roads are possible in the coming mornings.

The wet pattern consists of off and on rain and snow into next week.

Highs today are in the 40s and 50s and lows tonight are in the 20s and 30s. It will be breezy today due to the frontal passage. Temperatures will drop into the 30s and 40s heading into the weekend.

Happy Wednesday. Have a good day and don’t forget your raincoat today!
