Plan for unsettled, wintry weather continuing for the long term
If you have any pictures or snow totals from Sunday’s snow event, please share them via the “Share” tab on our website or email them directly to weather@ktvz.com for a chance to be shared on our live nws broadcast. We’d love to see them!
Icy, slick roads are likely on your morning commute. Snow struggled to stick to the roads for a good portion of Sunday, and therefore refroze underneath the now snow-covered roads. Be careful, drive safely, and give yourself extra time if you’re heading out this morning. Some schools have announced closures–check our website for more information.
The Winter Storm Warnings will expire this morning. A Winter Weather Advisory has been released for the Cascades, the eastern slopes and areas south of Bend beginning this evening until tomorrow evening. You can plan for isolated snow showers through this time. Another inch or so is possible in Sunriver and La Pine, making sprinkles on top of Sunday’s winter weather sundae. Expect higher totals as you climb above 4500ft.

An upper level low is exiting our region and taking the precipitation with it. As it does, we’ll be briefly drier on Tuesday. However, another upper level low is swinging in mid week, bringing rain and snow back to the region by Wednesday evening.
We’ll continue to see snow and rain throughout the week. A wheelhouse of systems will be impacting us, bringing unsettled weather: breezy, wet, and wintry for the long term forecast.
Happy Monday. Drive safely and have a nice day!
