Rain and snow will begin again this evening with little relief expected until the weekend

Highs today are in the mid 40s to low 50s with breezy conditions. Winds will gust between 20-25mph this afternoon.

We are off to a cloudy, but dry, start. However, rain and snow will pick up where it left off again this evening as a cold front moves in. Timing is right around dinner time, or just after. Heavy rain is expected in the Valley, heavy mountain snow, and a mix of rain and snow in Central Oregon.

As we cool overnight, rain will turn to snow and will continue through Thursday morning. I’m tracking between 8-12” along the Cascades while La Pine and Sunriver could pick up between 1-3” in this time frame.

Winter Weather Advisories are active until Thursday night for the Cascades, eastern slopes, and areas south of Bend. We’ll likely see more winter weather alerts get released into the weekend as winter weather continues. Little relief is expected until Sunday.

The official start of Spring is tomorrow, March 20th, on the Spring Equinox. Although we enter the season feeling and looking like winter, the taste of spring is near. Warming temperatures are expected into next week. If you’re excited for spring weather, I have something for you to look forward to…60s and 70s! You'll just need to hold out until next week.

Happy Wednesday. Have a great day!
