A Winter Weather Advisory is active until 11pm tonight for the eastern slopes, and areas south of Bend and until 5am Saturday for the Cascades. Southern Deschutes County will pick up 0-2” by the end of the day today. The mountains will receive another 7-10” by Saturday morning. Gusty winds this afternoon will increase travel difficulties through the passes.

This morning, there could be a little drizzle but rain showers will start mid-day today. Timing is expected to be between 11am-1pm. Showers will continue into the night, with the potential for snow to be mingled in at times in the higher elevations. Rain should taper off overnight, clearing for the weekend. Clouds will hang around, but the sun will be working hard to make an appearance.

Highs today are in the mid 40s to low 50s. We’ll keep those temperatures on Saturday but start trading them in for a few 60s on Sunday. A warming trend through the first half of next week will have a few cities even topping out in the low to mid 70s by Monday or Tuesday.

Happy Friday and have a wonderful weekend!
