Active weather continues with off and on rain into the weekend

Although we had many of the ingredients for strong, stormy weather yesterday, they didn’t add up perfectly. The western side of the state did see storms, but nothing severe was reported.

Our temperatures are on the cool down, so we aren’t expecting the stormy weather to continue, but active weather is still in the forecast. We’ll see rain today, and heavy rain to our west. Spotty rain expected through Friday. The weekend should be mostly dry, but there’s a chance we see a passing shower before the day ends Sunday.

As temperatures cool into the weekend, the mountains will receive a little snow and a cold rain or even a chance for a few wet flurries in our higher elevations in the early morning or very late night hours.

Following the mild trend and the rain we’ll see for the remainder of the week, be careful recreating near water. Rivers, creeks, and streams will be running high and fast. Minor flooding is possible. Much of Central Oregon remains under an Hydrologic Outlook for this reason.

Happy Thursday. Have a nice day!
