Hot start to the week, Fire Weather Watch on Tuesday
A high pressure system has parked over the region bringing hot and dry air with it.
After a warm day today, temperatures will continue to rise, with Monday’s highs expected to reach the mid to upper 90s.
Tuesday will bring more 90 degree heat, but a dry cold front is expected to move in by the afternoon as the high pressure ridge starts to weaken. This could spark isolated thunderstorms.
These storms likely won’t produce much rain, but dry lightning is possible which could increase fire danger. This is why there's a Fire Weather Watch for Central Oregon on Tuesday 2PM through 11PM.
We’ll cool down a bit on Wednesday and Thursday with temperatures in the mid to upper 80s. Please be careful this week with the combination of high heat and elevated fire danger.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
