Yellow Local Alert Weather Day tomorrow as heat peaks

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) - Hot conditions are expected in the coming days as a ridge of high pressure strengthens over the region.

An Extreme Heat Warning will remain in effect for portions of Central Oregon until Tuesday.

During this period, afternoon highs will climb into the mid to upper 90s, with some spots hitting triple digits. You might want to get the AC going, or find somewhere cool to escape the heat.

A Local Alert Weather Day is in effect for Monday, when temperatures are expected to reach their peak.

The ridge shifts south late Tuesday into Wednesday, starting a gradual cooldown through the rest of the week. Winds will pick up during this time, and with low humidity, fire weather conditions could reach critical levels.

Hot and dry conditions will dominate, with no rain in the forecast for the next several days.

Stay cool and enjoy the rest of your Sunday!
