Local Alert Weather Day: Scattered thunderstorms and locally heavy rainfall
Bend, OR (KTVZ) -
It was a stormy weekend for many Central Oregonians. Storms will continue this afternoon, embedded in off and on widespread showers. We’ve issued a Local Alert Weather Day today due to the chance of storms. We could see a few stronger cells develop. Hail, lightning, and brief downpours are possible underneath storms. If you hear thunder roar, go indoors! And if you happen to snap a picture, you can always share on the “Share” tab on our website.
Rainfall totals today will be around 0.10-0.30 but locally heavy rainfall is possible underneath storms. Some areas could pick up around 0.50”.
There is a chance for isolated storms on Tuesday, but as we approach mid week, storm chances drop and showers will take over. Plan for showers to continue through Thursday. There will be some clearing into the weekend but it looks like rain returns Sunday.
Temperatures are cooling down quite a bit, making it feel even more like late September or early October. Today, look for highs to be in the low to mid 70s but will cool to the 60s and low 70s after that for the majority of the work week. Snuggle up and pull out your favorite movie because we are getting a delicious taste of fall this week!
Have a great Monday. Stay safe!
