Early showers Sunday, cooler temperatures

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) - Happy Saturday! Hard to believe this is the final weekend of summer.

Highs reached the 80s today. There’s a slight chance for isolated/thunderstorms east of Bend into the Blue Mountains.

Overnight, clouds increase with lows in the 40s and 50s.

Early Sunday, a line of showers and couple storms will move in from the coast. Most of the rain squeezes out before it gets to us, so we’re only expecting light and spotty showers in the morning for the High Desert.

Expect a cool and cloudy day tomorrow with highs in the low 70s.

On Monday, we'll reach the mid 70s under partly cloudy skies. It also marks the official start of fall!

You may remember we also marked September 1st as the first day of fall. That was Meteorological Fall, which follows the calendar. Now comes Astronomical Fall, tied to the Earth’s position with the Sun. This year, the Autumnal Equinox falls on September 22nd.
