Fall begins with normal conditions but summer-like weather isn’t over yet

The autumnal equinox is today marking the official first day of fall. Conditions will be typical for this time of year.
Fog has developed in portions of southern Deschutes County this morning, so drive safely. Visibility can drop quickly. Early morning temperatures are on the chilly side but afternoon highs will be in the low to mid 70s, which is average. Skies cleared late yesterday and will remain clear today. You can plan for sunshine and light winds through the day.
A ridge of high pressure will be the main feature of the forecast this week. Although it’s officially fall, you’ll want to hold out on pulling out your sweaters just yet. Temperatures will jump about 10 degrees tomorrow. High will be in the low to mid 80s. Above normal temperatures will continue this week. Plan for highs in the 70s and 80, with Wednesday being the warmest day–Temperatures could reach near 90 for some.
Dry conditions and sunny skies are expected for the long term. Clouds will increase this weekend.
