Local Alert Weather Day: tracking mountain snow and an early morning wintry mix
BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) - A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for parts of Deschutes and Jefferson Counties until 1pm today.

It’s prompted a Local Alert Weather Day for potentially slick and slow travel.

Most of the wintry weather will stay in the Cascades above 4,000 feet, where 2 to 6 inches of snow are expected.
A wet mix of rain and snow will impact the morning commute from Lava Butte south to La Pine, as well as Sisters. Prepare for slick road conditions and allow yourself extra time to get to your destination.
That mix should taper off after sunrise and turn to all rain along Highway 97 by mid-morning south of Lava Butte.
It’ll be a chilly day, with highs only in the 40s as a cold pocket of air lingers.
Tuesday brings partly cloudy skies and highs in the low 50s, then we’ll warm into the upper 50s to low 60s by Wednesday.
The rest of the week looks mostly dry before rain returns by the weekend.
Enjoy the rest of your Monday!
