Chilly morning, rain and wintry mix expected overnight and early Thursday

Bend, OR (KTVZ) -

Yesterday’s stubborn cloud cover cleared overnight. With cloud cover gone, and cool, dry air sliding in, temperatures dropped quickly last night. This morning, temperatures are in the 20s. You will likely have to scrape or heat your car before you can get your day started. Patchy fog is also possible on your morning commute.

Afternoon highs will be in the 40s and 50s. Clouds will increase today ahead of rain and a mix beginning around midnight tonight. The rain and wintry mix will fall into early Thursday morning but clear by mid or late morning. Light mountain snow is expected during this time frame.

The way that this system is moving into our region isn’t very favorable for heavy rain or snow. Most of the moisture will be further west. Little rain and little to no snow accumulation is expected in the high desert. The roads, however, could be a little slippery in high elevation areas tomorrow morning.

The weekend will be dry and mild. Temperature will be in the 50s, with some areas even pushing 60 at times. Normal for this time of year is in the mid to upper 40s.

Have a wonderful Wednesday.
