Frosty and foggy Thanksgiving morning, mild afternoon

Bend, OR (KTVZ) -

Temperatures this morning are near freezing, so if you have plans to get out early for the Redmond Turkey Trot or “I Like Pie” Run, you’ll want to make sure you’re dressed warm. It is a frosty and foggy morning, so plan extra time to scrape your windshield and drive safely this morning. A Dense Fog Advisory is active until 10am for areas along 97 north of Bend. Visibility is less than a quarter mile in some areas.

There is a chance for a stray shower or two this morning but the rest of the day will be dry under scattered clouds. Highs will be in the low to mid 50s, which is about 10-12 degrees above the seasonal average.

Light mountain showers will continue into early Friday but chances for rain in the high desert fall off, so it looks dry and chilly for your early Black Friday shopping.

Temperatures cool down to near normal this weekend, into the 40s. There is a chance for a passing shower overnight Saturday but it should clear the viewing area by early Sunday.

Happy Thanksgiving. Have a wonderful day.
