Cooler weekend ahead under a relatively quiet pattern

Bend, OR (KTVZ) -

Temperatures are progressively cooling through the weekend, getting closer to average by Sunday. The average high temperature for this time of year is in the low to mid 40s. You can plan for highs in the 40s this weekend.

Little of note in the forecast over the next few days. Skies will vary from mostly cloudy to partly cloudy throughout the weekend. There is the chance for a few flakes to fall overnight into early Sunday morning, but no accumulation is expected.

Mt. Bachelor was supposed to open for the season today, but is still waiting on snow. I am not seeing any significant snow events for at least the next week. Temperatures are on the mild side and conditions are mostly dry.

There are a couple of intermittent chances for mountain snow next week but nothing looks impressive enough to get the resorts to open. We will continue to track any incoming storms for all the skiers and snowboarders eager to start making tracks.

Happy Friday, have a great weekend.
