Widespread rain today, chance for showers at times through the weekend

Bend, OR (KTVZ) -
It will be a wet and windy day today. Widespread, steady rain is expected through the early to mid afternoon. Rain will be light to moderate in some areas with totals expected to be between 0.10” and 0.50”. Sisters, La Pine, and Sunriver will be the wettest spots today.
Winds will gust between 25-30mph. There is a Wind Advisory active beginning this afternoon for the Lower Columbia Basin directly north of Central Oregon. While it doesn’t include the Tri-County area, be prepared to hold onto your hats nonetheless.
Rain should taper off this evening. Saturday looks likely dry, but a sprinkle is possible. You can leave the umbrella at home for the Bend Christmas Parade.
Chances for rain and a wintry mix return overnight into early Sunday morning. The mountains will pick up a couple of inches of snow in this time frame. Sunday afternoon will bring the chance for a few showers.
It doesn’t stop there. The wet pattern continues through mid next week. Tuesday will be the next day to watch for, as it looks to be the rainiest for Central Oregon. An Atmospheric River event is expected to impact the region next week which will bring in abundant moisture. The warm and wet conditions will bring heavy rainfall to areas across the northwest.
